Consumer Unit upgrades

Posted Date: 25th Jan 2012

R.A.M. Electrical Contracting Limited have today been updating a consumer unit along with various circuits today at a client property in Northampton. Originally there was 2 existing re-wireable fuse boards, one for an off peak supply for storage heaters with the other for the house circuits. Due to the fact that new electrical circuits were being added into the property this meant that the existing boards had to be brought up to date.

We installed one dual RCD board, one that is fully compliant with the current electrical regulations. We also removed the old storage heaters and added the circuits onto the new consumer unit, changing the storage heater points to socket outlets.

Due to the boiler being moved we added in a new circuit and wiring for the boiler controls.

Once this was done the property was fully tested and certificated, to ensure that we had left the client home is a safe condition.
